Australia Day Party

It was Australia Day on 26th January and BSTC students celebrated with an array of fun activities. They made an all-time Australian favourite – Chocolate Crackles! Moreover, they tried some traditional Australian foods and drink like fairy bread, vegemite, Caramello Koalas, Tim Tams and Milo. ‘Throw the thong’ and ‘Bite the biscuit into the shape of Australia’ were just some of the games students participated in. Also, students were introduced to ‘How to speak Australian’ by abbreviating words, for example, ‘arvo’ for afternoon, ‘biccy’ for biscuit, and ‘Aussie’ for ‘Australian’. It was a great event to build on students’ cultural knowledge.
